This year's Empire Awards were held last Sunday and Daniel Radcliffe walked away with Best Hero, two years after finishing Potter. His post-potter project The Woman in Black also won Best Horror. Having nominated the latter months ago I was very pleased! An image of Daniel with his award can be viewed left. About the win he remarked:
"Empire has always been very unpatronising in its coverage of Harry Potter and myself," says Radcliffe.
Glamour Mag said of it: "So pleased to hear Daniel Radcliffe has won #JamesonEmpireAwards Hero of the Year Award. He's such a nice guy. Well deserved!"
The full report on the award presentation can be read here courtesy of DanRadcliffe.Com.

In other Dan news, Danradcliffe.com are reporting that A new interview with the Harry actor about his big role was broadcast on Sky Showcase last Friday, and was shown last night on Sky 1. Had i not been so busy Iwould have posted this sooner. Off now to find a video guys!
Snitchseeker posted this from the transcript:
Daniel Radcliffe: "Somebody said to me after Potter are you not
going to take a break? I said no, I cannot afford to take a break: this
is the time when the film world will be watching to see what we do next
and we can't afford to be seen to be inactive. That fear of failure is
something that will panic me a lot."
"Whatever opportunities I get for the rest of my life, 99% of them you
can trace back to the fact that I got this amazing job when I was 10.
"I still maintain that there is no place more fun for a boy than a film
set: it's just great because it's mad and there's lots of stuff to play
with and climb on - I loved it; it was great."
"I really want to prove all the people wrong who assumed, when I got the part, that we wouldn't carry on beyond Potter."
"I've already done stuff towards that; Equus, My Boy Jack, December
Boys, Woman In Black - these are first steps in what is going to be a
very long process."
"I don't feel weird about that, I just feel like 'what a disappointment it must be when you meet me.'"
"People think film stars are all very cool and I'm not, I am a geek. I'm
obsessed with cricket, I'm not particularly what people want when they
meet a movie star."
The interview is an hour long and brand new as part of the SKY MOVIES holiday Potter season.
Highlights can be read here.
UPDATE: This will repeated next weekend as follows:

Magical Menagerie are reporting today that Potter Alumna Jessie Cave (Lavander Brown) has sat down with Digital Spy to talk about her future career. In the interview she spoke about Bookworm and Great Expectations:
What’s Bookworm all about? “The idea is that it’s the launch of this book club that I’ve made and everyone in the audience are members. It’s the big day, it means everything to me. It’s about introducing the idea of Bookworms United to all these people.” You worked with your sister on Great Expectations – was that something you were a bit hmmm… about? “Bebe got the part because of me. Bebe comes everywhere with me. All of my sketches… she’s in Bookworm, she’s my sidekick. There’s a joke in my play about I bred her especially to be my bookworm and it’s true! I have three brothers and I said to my mom and dad, ‘You’re having another baby!’ I just prayed and prayed to have a sister and I did. She was the best gift ever.”
Bookworm will be at Underbelly Cowgate at the Edinburgh Fringe from August 4-26. Tickets are available now by clicking here.
MM also posted a new video of Evanna Lynch and Jessie Cave which isn't showing up at the mo, but will look into it.

In other Dan news, that the Hammer Films CEO has spoken about a sequel, with Dan in tow? As many of you will have seen the film by now, either in theatres or on dvd, or if you havent... ***spoiler alert****** *******************************************************http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif**********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
This is a bit odd, as Dan's character came out a bit worse for wear!But there was much teasing of Daniel,according to Simon Oakes CEO, that he would return despite his fate:
For those who have seen The Woman in Black, and know of Kipps' fate, it is unknown how former Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe and his character would be incorporated in (as a flashback or otherwise). For now, this is simply a rumour, and Dan has not confirmed taking part in the sequel in any capacity.
Here is a synopsis for The Woman in Black: Angels of Death, with a 2014 release date, issued by Hammer:
Quote: Seized by the government and converted into a military mental hospital during World War II, the sudden arrival of disturbed soldiers to Eel Marsh House has awoken its darkest inhabitant.
Eve, a beautiful young nurse, is sent to the house to care for the patients, but soon realizes she must save them from more than their own demons. Despite Eve’s efforts to stop her, one by one they fall victim to the Woman in Black.”
The Woman in Black posted another video of Dan today in which Daniel Radcliffe answers a question about his on-screen dad in Potter, Adrian Rawlins: Did Dan seek advice from the original Arthur Kipps?
In other Dan news, his A Young Doctor's Notebook co-star John Hamm has been chatting about Dan's part in the film.DanRadcliffe.co.uk reported on the story last week:
"It was my idea[to hire Dan]!" Hamm [said]. "I'm a massive fan of Daniel. He's a wonderful actor and, now getting to know him a little bit, he's a great guy. I knew he wasn't willing to just say, 'OK, I'm Harry Potter and that's the end of that' - he wants to stretch and do different things. I thought he might be open to it - so we asked and he said yes. It's an interesting project. Hopefully I won't embarrass myself..."
Hamm revealed his fandom of sorts in GQ magazine.
In other cast upcoming projects, Bonnie Wright has spoken to about her acting future. She recently attended a special screening of her short film Separate We Come,Separate We Go at the the London College of Communication in association with BAFTA. Snitchseeker quoted Bonnie speaking about another short she has in the pipeline from an article on the screening:
[Separate We Come, Separate We Go], she says, is completely removed from personal experience. “Separate we Come, Separate we Go is in no way autobiographical, but it is inspired by the time I have spent in Dungeness and my parents have a house there.
“With this new film, I want to try something new, to be out of my comfort zone,” she said.
Magical Menagerie have revealed that our very own Domhnall Gleeson(by our i mean the Irish :P) will appear in the comic book movie,Dredd, based on the comic book Judge Dredd. The topic is a disenchanted American East Coast, overrun by criminals, and the film is to be released in September. MM say 21st,IMDB says 7th and Domhnall's part is unknown. Check out the poster left.
In other news, Daniel Radcliffe has launched the Home Cinema Premiere of The Woman in Black which will occur at 8pm 21st June. The Woman in Black UK's twitter posted the video,which can be seen below:
They also posted a new video to their facebook where Dan answers a fan question: Will you continue to make horror films? Watch here.
Dan recently gave an interview to Tapp Magazine in which he spoke of the nerves he still has auditioning,among other topics. DanRadcliffe.com caught the interview which can be read in full here, while a quote is below:
What are your strengths in an audition?
I’m really good with scripts. I can find a way into a script and break it down really well. I can find what my relationship to the material is very quickly, and that’s what I always love to talk to directors about.
Do you still get nervous?
Yes absolutely. I originally auditioned for Kill Your Darlings three years ago. I was playing Allen Ginsberg and had a meeting with the director John Krokidas. I was very, very nervous.
But you’ve got to trust you’ve got a take on the character. The one thing that will screw you up totally is if you start thinking: “I wonder what that actor would do with this, I wonder what this person would bring to it.” You can’t start thinking like that.
Dan has been busy promoting The Woman in Black DVD release over the past few weeks, most recently sitting down with Yahoo UK and Ireland. Mugglenet have reported that Dan has revealed the secret to a great on-screen kiss and we reckon he's wrong...that he's what makes it:
"God knows. I don't know [blushes]. You just kiss like a normal person and enjoy it! You just have to enjoy it and really be into it with the person you're with. I've never had to kiss anyone that I didn't really like. I don't know how I'd feel about that. But yeah I think as long as you're enjoying it that will show. You gotta have fun, you can't be all nervous and twitchy about it."
He also discusses his newest role, in the Young Doctor's Notebook, fan wars and the MTV Movie Awards in which he is nominated for two awards; Best Actor and Best Hero. Check out the video here or below:
DR.CO.UK are reporting that a new Dan interview appeared in the Advocate, where he spoke about Kill Your Darlings and Trevor Project:
You portray Allen Ginsberg in your next film, Kill Your Darlings. Radcliffe: I feel I am incredibly lucky to be playing him. Despite the damage from his upbringing and his mother and what he went through, he really emerged into the most fully formed open, compassionate human being out of all of the Beats. He’s certainly the one you’d be most comfortable spending time around, I think. When you watch footage of him and William Burroughs together and see how much they care about each other and how close they were and the love between all those guys and the incredible sadness that brought them all together that they were all carrying in some degree. It’s great.
Last year you received the Trevor Project’s Hero Award. The founder of Trevor Project said that you actually reached out to them to become involved with the organization. Why was this important to you? Radcliffe: I think it started when I was doing an interview a few years ago and I was being asked about gay rights and I realized I was speaking much more passionately about gay rights than anything else I’d been asked about. It’s because while growing up a lot of my mum and dad’s best friends were gay, so there were always a lot of gay men in my life.
When I went to school, suddenly there was something weird about that for a lot of kids. That’s still very odd to me. I’m still like, What’s new about it? It’s been going on for ages. I couldn’t understand why people are freaked out about it. I find it incredibly frustrating that people are still being brought up in ways that encourage homophobia and allow it to affect the lives of millions of people across the country and the world. Finding out about Trevor Project through friends at that time just seemed perfect.
I wanted to be of service and help, and I’m just incredibly proud that I’m able to. I do get people coming up to me and saying – I’d say at least five or six times each week someone will come up to me and say, "Thank you for what you do for the Trevor Project." It’s amazing that you’re able to effect a positive change just by being you and talking about things that you feel strongly about. I’m just very proud to be a part of it.
Snitchseeker have posted about some behind-the-scenes Kill Your Darlings photos released by cinematographer on the film Reed Morano ,one of which is left.
Many more interviews were done for America,Canada and Australia media with Dan, co-inciding with The Woman in Black dvd release in America and the UK, and the film's release in cinemas in Australia. RupertGrintUs are reporting that Into the White is also to be released on dvd! Exciting news for those of us not able to make it to Norway!
Scanbox Entertainment, which handles the distribution of the film in Norway and internationally, has decided that the film will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on August 28 2012.
Yet,they assure us it is only regarding the Norwegian release, but as it can be watched in English and is region 2, anybody in Europe can pre-order it here although I don't know if they deliver it outside of Norway. UPDATE: We used google translate and you have to be in Norway to even register! We'll keep you informed as this develops!
In other Rupert news, his musician sister Samanta Grint and their sister Charlotte have written a song about Rupert. RupertGrint.Net have got the video of the song which can be viewed HERE! Finally,filming of The Drummer has been pushed back to fall/autumn. This makes us wonder if that is due to Into the White International Release commitments, or rather hopes, but it probably has more to do with more pivotal cast members,funding or some related reason :(
Magical Menagerie just posted about some unseen promotion Daniel did while in Italy. Top Girl is an online magazine and they interviewed Dan recently. They also interviewed The Woman in Black Director,James Watkins (the first video). The videos can be seen below;

Snitchseeker posted some much clearer images from the event which can now be seen in our Dan album, and this video from the Paris premiere;
Chris Evans had Dan on his radio show the other morning and thanks to DR.CO.UK we have the link right here.

New interviews with James Watkins, Director of the Woman in Black have appeared online. Woman in Black Uk have linked us to this one with Experience Nottinghamshire.
Mugglenet are reporting on one with Female First, which can be read here, and includes praise of Dan himself;
"I am really proud of what he has done because I think that he has shown a different side of himself as an actor. I think he is in a different register compared to other things that he has done.
I think he holds the film really well, there is a twenty five minute section in the middle of the film where it is just Dan in the house; there is no dialogue and he has to carry it all with his expressions and how he responds through the house.
That is such a huge challenge as an actor and he doesn't have the other actors to bounce off, which always makes it easier. He is only twenty-three and he has a long career ahead of him - hopefully this is one step on that career."
The picture to the top left comes from a new telegraph interview with Dan, which can be read here.
"The period since Potter has been voracious; he has put away Harry with a vengeance. So is he very strategic? 'Everyone thinks it is very calculated and that we've got a master plan of how the next few years are going to pan out,' he replies. 'Of course we don't. You pick projects for the part, the director, and the script. I just want to do different, interesting stuff."
Finally, Dan is to attend and present at this Sunday's Bafta awards, and will be joined by various other Potter cast members. Leaky, presented this list;
"Several Harry Potter alums have been confirmed for the 2012 BAFTA awards. Gary Oldman (Sirius Black), Jim Broadbent (Horace Slughorn), Kenneth Branagh (Gilderoy Lockhart), and Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort) will be receiving awards, while Daniel Radcliffe and Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) will be presenting awards."
Woman in Black UK linked followers to the special Telegraph supplement that became available over last weekend. It includes a sit-down with author Susan Hill and adapted screenplay write Jane Goldman, a feature on Haunted Houses and most importantly a Dan Radcliffe feature. Check them all out here.
Left, is an image from the Paris Premiere of the film, which was posted by Snitchseeker. The rest can be found here.
Yo can ask Dan a question with Glamour Magazine Uk! Just check out the details here.
Leaky have updated the original 'Dan to introduce a Woman in Black screening in London' story to report that 2 screenings will be introduced by Dan this coming Saturday;
"For fans who missed out on seeing Radcliffe at the film's London premiere last month, this is another great opportunity. Radcliffe and Watkins will be present at the following screenings:

Dan is still busy bee-ing away promoting The Woman in Black (out tomorrow in the UK and Ireland!) and Snitchseeker have picked up on some more magazine and video interviews. Firstly, we previously posted the Attitude cover (here) but now the leading hp site have a new video from the mag shoot and some images which can ne seen in our Dan album. One of the colourful images is left.
Magical Menagerie also picked up on a new interview, this time for Watch magazine. Some quotes are available below;
“For the first time, I’m feeling nervous about a film coming out,” admits the actor of the supernatural thriller distributed by CBS Films, scheduled to open Feb. 3. “With Potter, you knew it was going to do well. There was a preexisting fan base. But with this, there’s that fear in the back of my mind that no one will really care.”
“I read the script just about two hours after we finished filming the last Potterfilm,” says Radcliffe, “and I thought it was the most compelling story. At the beginning of the film, [Arthur] is a deeply unhappy character in a state of emotional paralysis. But when it really gets going, he’s forced to come out of that and be an active participant in his own life.” It also didn’t hurt that the script scared the daylights out of him. “From the first page when he’s in the house with the woman in black, I was going, ‘Get out! Run! Don’t ever go back!’ ” he says with a laugh.
“I’m very ambitious,” says Radcliffe, who harbors dreams of directing one day. “In the back of my mind, there are always voices telling me what I have to achieve. That drives me on, along with other people thinking that I won’t be able to achieve those things.” He lets loose a hearty laugh. “I find other people’s doubts incredibly motivational.”
PHEW! thats alot to pack in, but it has to be done! Snitchseeker have announced that Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2 has won at the Art Director's Guild Awards!
"Harry Potter series received the Outstanding Contribution to Cinematic Imagery, as well as won the fantasy film award for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. On hand to receive the accolades were director David Yates, producer David Heyman, production designer Stuart Craig, art director Neil Lamont, and set decorator Stephenie McMillan."
Top Left is the Hp team.
In other Potter news, Total Film have released a Top 50 Scenes list,according to Leaky. The list includes Snape's takeover of Lupin's DADA class and can be found here.
In other notable figures, The Woman in Black has achieved a greater opening day figure than first anticipated, Mugglenet have announced.
"According to a report, The Woman in Black was projected to bring in around $11 million in box office gross for the entire weekend. Surprisingly, at the end of Friday, The Woman in Black was in a battle for first place with Chronicle by bringing in over $8 million gross as the two films are running neck-and-neck to take top honors this weekend."
On that note, DR.COM have completed their Toronto WIB premiere report which can be now read here.
Finally, here is a fun clip from Snitchseeker in which Dan gives an interesting possible future career choice;
Dan Radcliffe recently attended the Los Angeles premiere of the Woman in Black and Snitchseeker picked up on a few photos of the man,also finding some pictures of Tom Felton at the event,who is in LA for upcoming convention attendances. Unfortunately, there is none of them together, so left we used a nice one of D looking all Danny from Grease, while more can be found here.
In other Woman in Black news, CBS released a new clip, this time of the opening scene! Want as preview (if you're in the UK or Ireland like me!) check it out right here, below, courtesy of Snitchseeker. Dan introduces the clip
Finally, Dan appeared on the Wendy Williams show and Extra when on promo, the videos of which can be seen below, from Snitchseeker and Magical Menagerie respectively;
Firstly, left is a picture from Dan's filming of his sitdown with Jay Leno very recently. The picture comes courtesy of Snitchseeker and shows Dan with other guests Amy Lee and Vanessa Hudgens.
He spoke on the show about The Woman in Black and ghosts. The videos,reported on by snitchseeker, can be seen worldwide below;
Next, I would like to give a special mention to Leaky and WomaninBlackUK who posted the Nylon and Shortlist links first respectively.
The Shortlist pictures can now be seen in our galleries (click right for the 5 more images). The entire interview can be read here.
but if you want the real deal,from Dan fan to Dan fan, check out Danaholics exclusive review, written by a friend of mine Yasmin who was lucky enough to get to go to the World premiere and see the film! She also writes about her premiere experience, which is interesting and fun! But if you just want the film review, skip to the bold! The Woman in Black World Premiere -My experience
So I recently turned up to the premiere of The Woman in Black in London's, Royal Festival Hall. I turned up after work, was told I had already missed Dan Radcliffe and was rather upset, so I was standing there in the crowd, right at the back surrounded by the usual annoying old men autograph hunters lol, more than disappointing! As I stood there watching Jonathan Ross and Jimmy Carr arriving I thought of calling it a day! Then a lady working on the event walked past me and I saw her holding a couple of tickets in her hand and as she walked past again I instinctively shouted "duuuude is one of those tickets spare? " , she looked at me walked up to me and said " ok , take it but you have to come now" (2 autograph hunters snatched the other 2 tickets) .I was walking down the red carpet freaking out , lol, I was so excited that I actually walked right past Dan Radcliffe who was signing autographs to my right hand side lol!! Then I stood there staring at him until the security people looked at me funny and I decided I should go inside .. So , the film itself (I am making this one a spoiler free review as I know the film differs to the play and the book)... The film starts by setting the story with a rather creepy scene which literally had me shivering , then it cuts to the first scene of Dan as Arthur, 22yr old solicitor in mourning, then acting was brilliant, you really see pain and heartbreak in his eyes and wow such beautiful eyes! lol There's a cute and funny scene with his young son which lightens the tone of the film for about 5 mins before going back to dark and gloomy .
I don't want to give to much away but of course as most of us will know Arthur has the task of going through and organising all the paperwork of a widowed lady who has recently passed, the towns people are all aside from 3 people less than welcoming. Everyone acts rather mysterious and shady, and Arthur takes it all with a pinch of salt, everyone tries to get him to leave but he is certain of the job he has to do before his son joins him for the weekend.
The first journey to the creepy creepy creepy home of the recently passed Mrs Drablow, is done with amazing scenery, and they really could not have made it more "haunted" if they tried! But I don't think it's over done. The first few sightings of the Woman in Black are a little bit jumpy but they end quickly and your heart rate slows down quickly.
As the next few days go on, each sighting of the spectre , is followed by unfortunate incidents back in the village, the towns people turn against Arthur as they feel it's his fault. But he perseveres and tries to help and prevent the unfortunate events from happening, the more time he spends at the house the more he learns about Mrs Drablow and past occurrences in the village, many more creepy scary jumpy bits happen, which l promise you had me screaming my head off , and I was not the only one! They weren't just little one jump bits , but full on aaaaaaaaaah!!!! Holy craaaaap! Bits lol. Screams rang through the auditorium and many times I was tempted to hide my head in my lap until it was over but I did not want to miss anything ! Lol
The story seems to draw to a slightly predicable ending, and I was a bit like , saw that coming! And then the smug smile on my face and totally guessing the ending was wiped clean off as the real ending came. And okay okay I've read reviews calling it cheesy, and it was a little bit !... but oh well! It was still heartwarming and left the crowd feeling sad and happy , it takes a good film to make you feel opposites at the same time I think and in my view it was a good ending which tied up the story nicely, although at one point I did expect something different.
All in all Daniel was really good , Looking back on it I think he could have had a bit more dialogue, but he did a very good job with the words he was given. He was very committed to this role and although I have read other reviews stating that his acting is "wooden" and that he appears "too young" I strongly disagree , and not just because I am a super fan , but because he is a talented actor.I think he was perfect for this film , Arthur Kipps was portrayed beautifully by Daniel and he really did the story justice!
This is a must see film but you have been warned it is scary, it went from a 15 certificate to a 12A but I think it should go back up to 15 personally as it terrified me! Bring on the 10th of February !
