Tom Felton: Too Tough to Teach VoiceOver in full, to direct Meet the Fanatics and attend Tulsa & Birmingham Comic-Con

Since we last posted on Tom Felton he has done a voice over for one documentary and directed another.
Channel 5 documentary Too Tough to Teach aired September 29th and October 6th with Tom doing voiceover. Part 1 of episode one can be viewed below with part 2 and 3, as well as part 1, 2 and 3 of episode 2 available by clicking the numbers.

Tom also will direct and host a documentary for BBC3 about Superfans. This has yet to air (people can still apply to be featured by emailing feltonsfanatics@icloud.com) and is summarised as the following:
In November 2014 Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter) will be in the midst of Convention season heading to Tulsa to attend one of the world’s largest film and TV cult festivals Wizard World and on this side of the Atlantic attending Comic Con at Birmingham’s NEC. Every year thousands of super fans come together at these locations – wearing elaborate and intricate costumes – to meet the ‘real’ people behind their favourite shows. For the young men and women who attend it can be a life changing and often overwhelming experience as they meet the stars they’ve idolised for years.
For Tom the convention tour has been part of his life for over a decade, but now as an adult and with some distance from the franchise that made him world famous, Tom wants to take a step back and look at the conventions from the side of the super fan – attempting to understand for the first time why these young people become so attached to these fantastical books, movies and TV series and more importantly by spending time with fans and hearing from his celebrity friends and co-stars ask: when does a fan become a fanatic?
1×60′, director and presenter is Tom Felton. Executive producer: Colleen Flynn and Andrew Palmer from KEO Films. Commissioning editor for the BBC is Elliot Reed.
We'll post when we have a date of air.
The above summary also let us know that Tom will attend two conventions, Tulsa and Comic-Con in Birmingham. More info on Tulsa is available on Feltbeats here, while info on Comic-Con is here.

Have you all been watching Murder in the First? Isn't it exciting! With the season finale this coming Monday I'm wonderingwhat are your thought on how it will end, what were your initial thoughts on suspects etc. Be sure to share them in the comments!

Along the Centurion’s high-stakes mission, his doubts of such a supernatural occurrence are challenged as he encounters the Apostles and other historical characters while piecing together the mysterious events that unfolded after the crucifixion.

Please note that is is unclear who Tom will play.

Finally some news on the Tom release front - a new trailer was released of golf drama From the Rough (below) and some details were revealed of it's upcoming release. The details are as follows: the DVD and video on demand release in the US is set for the 2nd September.

Cannot begin to tell you how brilliant was! Intelligent, thoughtful and utterly beautiful. We cried more than once!
Gugu Mbatha Raw was utterly flawless. Dido was so sharp and on point. And the symbolism in the art spoke to me so much.

Tom Felton: Belle First US Reviews, Changing Face of Race, Win & Find Advance Screenings

Advance screenings for Tom Felton's period drama Belle have begun and you can find out where it's showing early in your US place here. If you're living in Overland Park in Kansas you can win preview tickets from KCTV5 right here.

Fans who have already seen the film are gushing about it (and Tom retweeted a few yesterday) and Oprah even gave it the thumbs up! Check out some opinions below:

Aside from fan reviews the box office figures speak for themselves:

More importantly however, the film, and films like it, is making a bigger impact than sales. The Urban Daily sat down with director Amma Asante and discussed how Hollywood's view of the black woman is turning a corner:

Last week, Lupita Nyong’o was on the cover of People’s Most Beautiful issue and Beyonce made the cover of Time 100.  Do you feel mainstream media and the world at large are turning a corner in how they view Black beauty and Black female achievement?

Amma: A few days ago I watched “The Butler”  and  “Twelve Years a Slave” and  started to to weep, because I saw this great tapestry in our history was being woven on the screen, and “Belle” was going to be a part of that in some way.  But it made me sad because I thought iss this a phase,  a fad in the way that  Africa was Hollywood’s muse a few years ago.   Everybody was making a movie in Africa – “Blood Diamond,”   “Constant Gardener,” etc.  We wondered then at that point, what difference that was going to make and whether we were turning a corner.  Someone then said something to me ‘Yes, but every time we go through one of these phases it leaves a residue.”  And that residue is an important one.  So whether we are going through to actually turning a real corner, which I do truly believe we are, or whether it’s another fad or fashion, it’s going to leave a residue, which you will never be able to get rid of.  It will stay, and it’s creating a platform for the next time around.

I do believe there is a kind of momentum that’s building now.  It’s really for us to seize it.  Not just us as people of color, but for the world.  If we want to change the world, then we have to change the way we do things.  People of color have to go and see movies that have people of color in them.  They have to support those movies.   So, it’s about us kind of leveraging the momentum, I think, and not letting it become a fad or a fashion that only leaves a residue, but actually pushes us around that corner, and leads us to the next stage of our evolution.

Tom Felton: Murder in the First Trailer/Release Date, Vancouver Con, GQ Preview,More Essential Homme

In exciting Tom Felton news, that crime show we've all been hearing and seeing set pics from starring the very talented and bubbly DUDE has finally got a trailer. Have I said how excited this makes me!? Check it out below and look out for it US peeps on TNT this coming June 9th as that is when it starts!

We previously wrote about Tom's interview in Essential Homme Magazine and more questions have now been released. Here are some quotes...and notice in the the first few, no mention of Jade!
ERK: Correct me if I’m being presumptuous, but perusing your Instagram, I would picture your perfect day to include your dog, Timber, a few rounds of golf, and… give me a third thing.
TF: I noticed that recently. I was flicking through some of my lasts posts and it’s literally dogs and golf. I’ll try and mix it up for you, Evan, don’t worry.
ERK: Thank you.
TF: I love the outdoors, so probably a fire. I love to sit outside with a nice fire.
Remember we said hint of new music:
ERK: Might we get some new music in 2014?
TF: I’d like to think so. I’d like to think I’m always tinkering and working on stuff. It’s just a case of ‘if I get the time and the right place and the right people to record it.’
ERK: Who would be some of your dream artists to collaborate with?
TF: I’m not sure if I’m in the realm of collaborating with any of these people but I enjoyed the new John Mayer album, the new Jack Johnson album, [and] loved the new Eminem album. It’s quite a varied group there. I’m not sure what the four of us would sound like if we dove forth with it…
ERK: You worked with acclaimed playwright Neil LaBute on his first TV venture, Full Circle, do you have any aspirations to do Broadway? Would you consider a musical?
TF: Yeah, definitely. It’s not in my immediate focus or drive, but that’s how I started, doing theatre, so it wouldn’t be something that felt too unnatural to me. I’d love to do [one] if it’s the right one.

In other interview stuff, Tom will feature in GQ Style Spring/Summer and has posted a funny preview!
For a video preview of the entire issue head here. Tom in at 0:08.

Finally in Felton news, Tom is set for the Vancouver Fan Con later this year:

Tupert: Tom's Belle and In Secret Screenings, Rupert Talks Mojo with Lorainne/Guardian, Takes Part in WaterAid

In good Tom Felton news, his period drama Belle has helped open the Palm Springs festival this past Friday. His other period drama, In Secret, is also to play at the festival on 8th and 9th January:
Palm Springs Regal 9 – Wednesday, January 08, 7:30 PM and Thursday, January 09, 8:30 PM.
Left is a new poster for In Secret.  For more info on the fest, which runs from 3rd until the 13th January, head here.

In Rupert Grint news, He and Mojo co-star Daniel Mays appeared on ITV'S Lorainne chatshow to talk about the play, which now runs til early February (only around 41 shows left).

Check out a picture of the pair on the early morning show right and a video is below:

In other December news, Rupert and his Mojo cast took part in a mock Live Aid music video for Water Aid and this video is now below. "See Rupert singing with the cast at 0:40 and dancing on stage at 4:10."

More recently, Rupert spoke to The Guardian about Mojo, Charlie Countryman, and his first forray into the hoodie in Lego House.
Some quotes are below and the entire article can be read here, while a picture from the article is left.

Emerging from the “safe bubble” of Potter, Grint, 25, felt slightly lost. He credits director Ian Rickson for bringing him Mojo. “That cockney language is almost Shakespearean. And it’s a proper ensemble cast. Danny [Mays] gives me so much energy to bounce off and Ben Whinshaw is amazing.” While shooting The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman, a forthcoming film in which he plays an aspiring porn star, he was astonished to see Shia LaBeouf take LSD for real. “He smashed the place up, got naked and kept seeing this owl. If anything will make you not do drugs, it’s watching that.”
