Daniel Radcliffe News: Details of the Jeans for Refugees Exhibit and Auction featuring Dan's Jeans

We previously shared on our newspaper news that Dan Radcliffe was to donate jeans for a art project called Jeans for Refugees.

I contacted the website coordinator and all the details of the exhibition and auction have now sent to us:

• The ‘Jeans for Refugees’ exhibition will run for one week at the Saatchi Gallery from the 22nd-28th August, with a launch party held in a five star London hotel.

• An auction dinner event will be held at the end of the exhibition. This will be a fundrais-ing event including guest list, catering, and a live auction.

• Auction target - 1-20 million. Starting prices will be decided upon in consultation with our auction house - as a rough estimate we expect 100,000 for top celebrity pieces starting at £20,000.

• Funds and proceeds from the auction will be collected by the auction house and trans-ferred to the International Rescue Committee.

• Information about the IRC initiatives that will be funded by the proceeds of the auction can be found athttp://www.rescue.org/our-work

FINALLY!!! Victor Frankenstein trailer is here!

It's been a month, but it's felt like decades, since this trailer was premiered at San Diego Comic Con so I won't make you wait a sentence longer:

Enjoy and give us your thoughts! Thanks to Paul Guigan for the heads up on when it was airing because "the morning on Fox" doesn't narrow it down Google+ haha

SDCC Victor Frankenstein: What we know so far, Rear of the Year Acceptance Speech

I'm a bit dissapointed that there is still no Victor Frankenstein trailer (leaked or otherwise) from last weekend's San Diego Comic-Con. But we gained quite a lot of insight from both the panel with Dan Radcliffe and internet blogging on the trailer.
Check out the panel below where Dan and James McAvoy bromance it up (some of the banter not suitable for younger viewers) and talk about how this film re-installs the name Frankenstein to the scientist (YES, my pet hate is when people call the monster Frankenstein) and explain how Igor, whom Victor sees almost as an intellectual equal, both aids and holds Victor back from his ego and insanity. With thanks to the YouTube channel Flicks and the City:

If you want a blow by blow of the trailer and extended clip shown at the con before we get that delicious video, check out some bits of the Shock Til You Drop post about it below. Please note this is spoilerific and I haven't even read most of what i'm copying and pasting! They seem to confirm the dark aspect Dan says in the panel they were looking for, though i also expect some dark humour if Dan had anything to do with it!
"Most of the trailer goes about introducing McCoy’s title character and his obsession with experiments.  Victor tells Igor that they’ll be part of a scientific enterprise that will change the world. “We will create life out of death,” he tells him and then we immediately get the first “It’s alive!” of the trailer as his experiment works. “You realize how significant this is?” Igor asks enthusiastically. “Oh I have an inkling,” Frankenstein responds.
Frankenstein is confronted by Deputy Inspector Turpin (Andrew Scott from Sherlock) about “missing body parts” and he’s questioned by a woman (possibly Jessica Findlay’s Lorelei?) asking whether he’s afraid to challenge the natural order, as she mispronounces his name and he corrects her. (A little Young Frankenstein joke).
While Igor admires Frankenstein, it certainly seems like he’s beginning to question his scientist friend’s motives and sanity as they get deeper into the experiments. The title cards say “The Legend is Reborn,” before we see lots of quick shots of various creatures chasing after them, as well as the famous monster that grabs its creator.
Afterwards, they showed the first full clip from the film, which involves Victor showing his fellow scientists his latest experiment to bring the dead back to life. It opens with Victor and Igor walking down the halls of the university where he calls out to everyone that they’re doing a presentation “in Hall H” (was that inadvertent or did they know while shooting they’d show this scene at Comic-Con?).
“Since the beginning of modern medicine there has been an assumption regarding the state of mortality,” is how the presentation starts, and he orders his assistant Igor over to the electrical switch. Victor gets a devoted “Yes, master” in response. “I give to you life by my own creation,” as he pulls a sheet off something that’s lying on the table, which turns out to be a small half-sized body of some kind.  He explains that he had built this “homunculus” out of various body parts and he calls for those in attendance to come closer to see what he’s doing. “Now by the miracle of electricity, I give you in 3.. 2…1…” and he zaps the body with an electrical charge causing flies that were resting inside of the bodyto fly out as the others start backing away from the stench. Meanwhile, there’s a snarky blonde guy nearby (Finnegan played by Freddie Fox), who clearly isn’t a fan of Frankenstein. He applauds the failure and makes snide comments. “This is an exquisite show of depraved lunacy,” he chides.
Victor orders Igor to increase the charge and he shocks it again, but nothing happens.  He then calls for a full charge and zaps it again and nothing happens. Then, the eye opens and Victor proclaims “You see? It’s alive.” An arm juts out from the body sending Victor flying to the other side of the room as the creature gets up. It seems to be a cross between a decomposed dog with a monkey’s head that starts screeching and runs out the door and down the stairs. Victor follows him, and ends up in a dark laboratory. He looks up, and sees the creature on a shelf above him as it dives off and the clip ends.  "

The most interesting interview I unearthed while scouring the internet is from E!, where they bring up his recent award for Rear of the Year.
Moviefone have the clip here.

I'll be uploading more interview clips soon and you can view some interesting pictures of Dan from the Con on our Facebook.
Follow the official Frankenstein Twitter here. More on the film at ComingSoon.net.

Daniel Radcliffe round-up: Young Americans Greenlighted, GTA: Gamechanger, Have I got News for You & More

News just in via email! After the signature numbers on the petition kept going up and up, Young Americans, which is set in 1970s and is to reunite Kill Your Darlings actors and director was greenlit!
Daniel Radcliffe and Dane De Haan have also now been joined by Kill Your Darlings DP Reed Morano and Amanda Seyfried. Check out the synopsis of the film, originally entitled College Republicans below:
The script is based on a true story from 1973 centred around Karl Rove. Rove, claimed to be played by DeHaan, runs a campaign for national College Republican Chairman. Under the guidance of his campaign manager Lee Atwater, supposedly Radcliffe, Rove’s campaign is far from clean.Their campaign includes a wild road trip intended to drum up support. Despite all the political machinations, however, the focus is really on the friendship between the two, and that’s something that Radcliffe and DeHaan could do a lot with."

In other new projects, Dan Radcliffe has just begun work on Gamechanger, a film based around the non too straightforward origin story of the popular game Grand Theft Auto. The role was originally just a rumour as Dan was said to be in talks to play "Rockstar Games honcho Sam Hauser, who steered the games from their simple top-down origins to the massively complex - and violent - open world system we now know. " Bill Paxton was later confirmed and talk became more definite as regards Dan. He has no begun filming in South Africa (looking rather bearded!) and some candid set pics were revealed online, one of which is right, which credit to DR.CO.UK.

The word is that the film will be "broadcasting later this year via BBC television". The film is based on the book Jacked by David Kushner, which we just might give away as our next prize!
We'll keep you posted with developments!

In somewhat older project news, the first official look at Victor Frankenstein and Igor was released online a while back and this image can be seen here. There are also some fun photos of Dan with his Victor, James McAvoy, in the Jameson Film Awards photobooth here.

In videos, Dan posted a thank you to his Google+ to the LGBT Awards for his nomination  as Best Celebrity Straight Ally. Congrats Daniel!

Also in videos, Radcliffe recently returned to the presenting chair of the current affairs comedy show Have I Got News For You. The full episode can be watched below:

Finally, Daniel revealed, alongside other well known faces, what the first movie that made him cry was. You can check out the full video below, but look out for Dan at 0.08 and 4:02:

Daniel Radcliffe: 'Now you see me 2' updates, 'What If' deleted scene - OUT IN UK February, Horns out in Jan/March

We previously retweeted the information that filming on Now You See Me 2 had begun:

but now we have more information on the filming!
Dan has updated his Google+ account with the following:
Dear Google+ers: Thank you so much for helping us to near the 50 million mile stone. I'm sorry I have posted much recently but I have just started filming NOW YOU SEE ME: THE SECOND ACT,  which has already been a fantastic experience, working with an amazing cast and crew. I'd love to share some pictures but I'm pretty sure that'd get me in trouble with our producers. Suffice to say I'm excited for everyone to see the movie(in 2016!). Thanks again for your continued support! You're the best (yes, all of you!) - Dan
In other words from Dan, so to speak, VH1 did an interview with the What If main man where he spoke about Sid Vicious, punk and more. Check it out:

There is also a new clip from What If available online(ONLY TO US viewers). In the deleted scene, Wallace teachers his nephew about fisty-cuffs. Check it out on MTV.

What If has no been released on DVD/Blu-Ray in the US but won't hit the UK/Ireland until next February 9th. Horns will be out in the US January and in the UK in March.

Daniel Radcliffe talks to Conan O'Brien about drinking anti-freeze, knowing the Star Wars title already and his worst movie pitch ever

Dan Radcliffe recently visited the Conan O'Brien show while promoting Horns is the USA and some clips have become available online. One quote that is also available concerns his accidental drinking of anti-freeze and becoming ill:
"It is very cold in Canada and as a solution to that, because they don't want the water to freeze in the pipes in the trailers overnight, they put antifreeze in it."
"So it's all non-potable water that comes out the tap. I did not know that, so I drank a full cup of non-potable water ... so I guess like half-antifreeze or whatever it would have been.
"I didn't realise, and then I got horrendously ill and didn't know why I had become so ill, and a couple of weeks later I went to drink a glass of water in hair and makeup and they were like, 'What are you doing? Don't do that, that's crazy you can't drink that water!' "
After realising the additive was the cause of Daniel's near-death experience, he raced back to his trailer on the set to discover it hadn't been fitted with signs telling him not to drink the water.
Speaking on chat show 'Conan', he added: "I just had never seen the signs. I went back and checked my trailer and there weren't signs in it that said, 'Don't drink this water,' but it was just, yeah, it was an accident."

Daniel Radcliffe on Ellen Degeneres, The Talk, MTV Halloween Costume Shopping and more

Since our last Dan Radcliffe interview post got a little cramped, I decided to move the videos over here!

Now for some video interviews! Or at least some snippits from them since outside the US it is difficult to view the entire show.
Enjoy!

Ellen Degeneres:

The Talk:

VH1:

Dan sat down (and jumped around as can be seen from the image on the last post) with Josh Horrowitz of MTV recently and spoke about his boycott of Harry similar glasses in the future. US viewers can watch the video here, but for the rest of us I will have to continue to scour the internet for clips! In the meantime, below are some quotes.

Daniel Radcliffe’s message is clear: he is done with glasses forever.
Daniel’s fears are justified. At 25, the actor’s impressive repertoire including stage, television, and film is constantly eclipsed by his longtime stint as everyone’s favorite boy wizard. As he told MTV’s Josh Horowitz:
It’s gonna be contacts or like triangular glasses or something just to really put some distance. I haven’t needed them yet, but maybe I will one day. That could be worrying.

UPDATE:
I am unsure if this is the same clip, but here is a humourous clip of Dan playing awful halloween store salesman:

There was also a junket in LA, attended by Snitchseeker staff, which can be read here.

Daniel Radcliffe confirmed for Now You See Me 2, Kill Your Darlings on Netflix, Josh Horowitz image, rapping with Chris Pratt and other interviews for Horns

Happy, Sad,Confused -MTV interview

In the confirmation of news we could probably already rely on, Daniel Radcliffe has been confirmed to star in the Now You See Me sequel, though we are as of yet unaware in what he will be doing in the film except that he will be Michael Caine's son.

In other Dan stuff, Horns promo in the UK and America hit a high recently with many new interviews emerging. The ones we heard about (I'm sure there are many more) are now below.

First of all lets start of with one in which co-star Juno Temple participated in as its nice to see Dan bounce off another person. This was a 'Would I ever' type of question and answer session with Buzzfeed. Check out a sample below while the full interview can be accessed by clicking the word "session" above:

Would you make up an excuse to cancel on friends but then stay home and watch TV?
DR: Yeah!
JT: Yeah!
DR: John Mulaney has a great line about that. He says, “Canceling plans is second only to heroine in terms of instant relief.” It really is! If you’ve got a really busy evening and you go, Actually no I’m going to stay home and do nothing, you will never be happier than you are at that moment.

What would you binge-watch if you canceled plans?
DR: Well recently I sat down to watch one episode of that new Netflix show BoJack Horseman, and just watched the whole thing in, like, two days.
JT: When I got back from England, I put on the telly to that show Naked and Afraid. I watched like eight episodes! It’s such a weird show. This one guy made it so uncomfortable! He came on and he was obviously feeling really good about being naked, so he went up to this naked girl and said, “I’m going to make this as awkward as possible.” *Acts out shimmy movements* And she just went, “Oh yeah.” I did binge-watch that [Naked and Afraid], but that wouldn’t be my choice, I don’t think.
DR: Ancient Aliens! I don’t want to sound like I’m really highbrow all the time because I’m definitely not.

In an interview with Yahoo, Dan recalled what people now refer to as his "winning of the internet", when he rapped live on Jimmy Fallon. Yahoo mentioned a similar feat Chris Pratt undertook and he admits that he would like to collaborate but that he isn't picturing a "side career":
I would love to do a rap song with Chris Pratt," Radcliffe tells us laughing. "We should totally make that happen."
It would likely have to be a cover, though. The erstwhile Harry Potter star has no intention of moonlighting as a musician.
"No, I’m making that very clear at the moment, I’m not [launching a side career]," he says. "Just covers."
In verbal interviews, Dan took part in the most recent Empire Podcast:

Time also sat down with Daniel and the interview can be read here. I love how he handles Potter references from interviewers:

So you’re not controlling them with Parseltongue?
No, no. It’s funny — I don’t think about any of this stuff that can be equated to Potter, like the talking to snakes. Being so close to Potter for so long, I can’t even see references to it in other places.

Dan did an interview with Josh Horrowitz for MTV, which we are still sourcing, but for now enjoy the image above!

Finally, i would like to share my great discovery - Kill Your Darlings is on the UK and Irish Netflix!

Daniel Radcliffe does Twitter Q&A for 'Horns': Full Transcript

Yesterday Daniel Radcliffe done a Q&A with fans live via Twitter to promote Horns. Below are all the questions and answers.

Q: Do you think you'd like to direct a film someday?
A: Yes, definitely. In fact I’ve written a script which is a very dark comedy. Hopefully I’ll get to make it one day.

Q: What is the weirdest thing that happened to you making the film #Horns ?
A: I accidentally drank anti-freeze. #LongStory

Q: What was the most challenging part about playing Ig Perrish?
A: Trying to be as real as possible while dealing with the insane situation.

Q: What kind of books do you like to read? Are there any books you would like to recommend?
A: The master & margarita, and I would also recomend Slaughter-House Five.

Q: what are u dressing up as for Halloween this year
A: Probably as Ig from Horns as I kept the Jacket

Q: my son learned to smile watching you on the Autism DVD you contributed to at age 12. What are you most proud of?
A: That, now.... and thank you!

Q: who has been your role model as a child?
A: My parents.

Q:  which characteristics you share with this new character ?? And could you be friend of him???
A:  I could definitely be his friend, he has great taste in music and if he wasn't dealing with the Horns would be a really nice guy.

Q: what's your personal favourite line from Horns ?
A: There's one moment in the film I say "One thing i've got in my favour, i'm really f***ing hard to kill".

Q: What was the best piece of advice you've ever received and who gave it to you?
A: My father.... When you meet somebody, get your hand out first to shake theirs...

Q: The horns quite suit you! Did you keep them once filming finished?
A: I got to keep one set there were many!

Q: What do you admire the most about Juno Temple?
A: Her fearlessness, her work ethic and generally being a lovely person. She's the best!

Q: why do you like being in scary movies
A: there is satisfaction in filming something knowing that a year later it's going to make people scream!

Q: What songs are in your playlist for #Horns ?
A: @PerfumeGenius @Radiohead and @TheShiversNYC's Lonely Road which ended up on the #HornsMovie soundtrack.

Q: Favorite trait or characteristic of your character, Ignatius?
A: He's a romantic in the truest sense, he's pure of heart.

Q: Would you recommend This movie to someone who's scared of horror movies
A: Yes, absolutely. It's not all horror, there are elements of comedy and romance in there, too.

Q: if you had a chance to play any other character on horns, who would it be?
A: I'd probably go with my brother in the movie, terry.

Q: what was the most difficult part of the filming for Horns?
A: Driving, I drive in the move but I don't in real life. I've since had lessons and will take a test soon.

Q: What is your biggest fear?
A: Being buried alive! But that’s a rational fear. I don’t have any phobias.

Q: in #HornsMovie you get people to reveal their darkest secrets. Who would you like to do that to in real life?
A: I can't think of names, but i'm sure there are some politicians we could have some fun with!

Q: Do you think Ig's power is a good or bad one to have?
A: I think it's bad, knowing what other people are thinking would be like being able to feel other's pain. No one wants that.

Q: What would you do if you woke up with real horns?
A: I would probably avoid all of the people I like so that I wouldn't know what they were really thinking.

Q: What are you looking for when you read a script?
A: The chance to do something that I haven't done before.

Q: what was it like working with Princess Leia (the snake)?
A: love it, she would hang on to me to stay warm. She got that name as she was carried in a Star Wars pillow case.

Q: name 3 actors you haven't worked with but wish to in the future
A: George Clooney, Jennifer Lawrence (she's so cool!), Jeremy Brett (if time travel is possible.)

More Daniel Radcliffe Dublin Interviews: Today FM and Spin 103.8

While briefly in Dublin last Friday, Dan recorded some interviews for radio which aired today and these can be clicked on below:
Spin 103.8  Here Dan spoke about the creativity that was encouraged from Horns Director, how refreshing it was to find a rom-com script with such realistic dialogue, unexpected emotional power and characters that are trying to do the right thing.

Danaholics Exclusive: 'What' If Film Review

***a few minor spoilers, trailer spoilers, strong hints at the ending***

What If (formally the F Word) tells the story of Wallace(Daniel Radcliffe), a med school drop-out just after dealing with the after-effects of a messy break-up, who meets the delightful Chantry (Zoe Kazan) at a house party. Accidentally leaving at the same time he offers to walk her home and it is on this trip that he finds out that her boyfriend (Rafe Spall) is waiting for her at home. Although originally disappointed, on meeting her by chance again, a naïve Wallace thinks that he may possibly be happy being friends. How wrong was he.

What If is a delightful, funny, quirky and well cast film which although it doesn't break the rom-com mould, it does have a slightly different take on it. "Delightful, funny, quirky" are words you've probably heard in countless other reviews of this film so I'll go into further detail. It is delightful in the way in which the characters are drawn, Wallace is a likeable, relatable hopeless romantic who hides behind a shell of cynicism about love that proves to be endearing and at times may make you feel for his situation. Quirky - Chantry is not your usual rom-com female, she is smart, career-driven and has a sense of humour that edges on exactly what Adam Driver brings to the table - cringy & slightly uncouth jokes,. There are also lots of odd but memorable lines. Funny - this film doesn't rely on the laughs seen in the trailer, although these are funny. For example the bit where Wallace accidentally knocks Chantry's boyfriend Ben out the door has funny bits before and after that section. Adam Driver adds his two cents, improvising on certain occasions, but it is not overdone and it feels less cringy than his work in Girls.

As for What If as a rom-com, the ending although not surprising in it's entirety, the journey there is very 'will-they-won't-they' and there are points where you think that actually they won't. The journey afterwards as hinted at as the credits roll is also different from the norm, you'll see what I mean when you see the film. Further to this there isn't the usual 'oh I like this boy now I'll just instantly break up with him, or cheat on him'; Chantry remains true to the close, and by all means she is still in love with Ben for the duration of the movie. Ben, for the main part is not necessarily given the poor portrayal the boyfriend does in these types of situations but there are times when he's portrayed as a bit winey or baby-ish. Yet his original trip away for work is mentioned to Chantry first before making a decision. So for the main part the idea that Wallace has come to save Chantry from a terrible relationship isn't necessarily the way it is.

As regards acting, Daniel Radcliffe plays an endearing and sympathy-inducing Wallace with points of real emotion but also of comedy. Zoe Kazan captures your attention and it makes you want to be her friend, her loyalty to Ben even when she starts to doubt her feelings for Wallace makes her out to be a more noble person that most movie characters. Rafe Spall is both hilarious and somewhat likeable as Ben, if not a bit confused about the continents. Adam Driver, although his part is small, brings some contrast in terms of the male persona and opinion on love to the table as well as his usual brand of humour. His and Mackenzie Davis' Nicole add a nice little sub-plot, the less complicated route to finding a life companion. Chantry's  sister Dalia, played by Megan Park, adds some more Samantha Jones-esque humour and opinion to the female side of the plot.

Overall, though it had it's flaws as an escape from the usual predictable rom-com, it was still quite unique and thoroughly enjoyable.

UPDATED: Daniel Radcliffe appears on Saturday Night with Miriam, Talks about how "awesome" Dublin looks in What If

Daniel sat down with RTE legend Miriam O'Callaghan on her summer tv show Saturday Night With Miriam after the premiere on Friday and the interview was broadcast on RTE 1 last night. Irish viewers can now see the interview at RTE Player here, and I will be looking for an international video. Left is an image from the host's twitter account.

In other interviews, a preview of Dan's interview with RTE Ten is available online (published in full tmrw) and below are some quotes:
"Dublin looks awesome; it's not hard to make Dublin look really pretty but it looks great in the movie. It was a lovely ending to the whole shoot, we finished it off here so it was a nice way to go."

UPDATED:
Still no international video for the interview with Miriam, but I'll keep looking. On the show Dan spoke about:
some sections of British press making him out to be 'obnoxious, entitled and headed for failure'. He said Irish press were so lovely here, and it's true he probably doesn't get bothered much.
visiting County Clare while visiting an ex-girlfriends family (guessing Laura O'Toole) and finding it beautiful especially the Cliffs of Moher.
Not liking doing the Irish accent now after a few months off Broadway because he doesn't want to mess it up, learning Japanese and a southern drawl accent. This got us wondering, what role does he need a Southern accent? His character in Brooklyn Bridge is from Philadelphia and his character in Tokyo Vice is from Missouri. Rumours online say he may possibly be doing something for the College Republicans with Kill Your Darlings co-star Dane DeHaan.
about moving on from Potter and those old quotes about Half-Blood Prince springing up again.
about how Wallace is a hopeless romantic and about What If in general.
about how his comment on the Lib Dems and the British general election back in 2009 got thrown so out of proportion.

In other updates, the RTE Ten video is now up, though most likely only available to those in Ireland:

UPDATED with Audio: What If Dublin Premiere Q&A Transcript - animation, nudity, singing, Tokyo Vice and politeness

In case you have difficulty hearing what's said during the Q&A when in the clips (please note that there is poor visuals and some loud people behind me can be heard in a few places), here is the beginning of the transcript, the rest is on the way [please note there are some spoilers]:
[applause]
Daniel: Hello, everyone, thank you for coming. I hope you can stay for the Q&A except for life threatening emergencies. So, yeah, thank you very much for coming I'm immensely proud of this film.

Host: Well what happens? At the end of the film he goes out in the world, you are soon to become doctor...get married...
Daniel: Yeah, I only remembered today that you don't have the, like,  in America, we tested the film after Toronto and people really liked it but were going [heightens voice to a concerned sound] 'But what happens?' And like to me it's like obvious, [laughter] but em in America they were like 'we don't know' so we shot another ending to the film which is a different ending to what you seen there, where you see us getting married but I really prefer this one, just where it ends on the sandwiches, cause there's something so weirdly romantic about [laughter]  how these become such a symbol of these people's love for each other, and yeah.
H: It's also possible that they kissed, went to bed with each other, the sex was crap and they never talked to each other again.
D: [laughs] Noooo. That would never happen.

H: In fairness it was a good ending. The credits are really nice.
D: Yeah I like it, and I love the animation throughout, it gives the film some visual playfulness that you might not normally get otherwise [voice loudens] and it's cool too, on a completely nerdy geeky note, if there's one person out there that cares about this then awesome, this is for you, em basically, all the animation in the film, none of it was visual effects or put in after, it was all done live or on camera, even the stuff that was floating across her face, it's a thing called light mapping, and it's awesome and you can have it project on the back of her from a truck and on the walls of the city as you drive by and it's just on a loop, it's all very nerdy and geeky.

H: It's actually kinda cool, it is cool. Em, I think the burning question of that though was not kind of can guys and girls really be friends, but what would you call cool whip?
D: [laughs] I think what is funny about that scene to me is the fact that all of that was improvised and we were just throwing stuff out there and  like that you can really see me and Zoe looking at Adam Driver and like 'how are you doing this?' he can come up with so many funny things and I'm just saying words and trying to put them with something else. I think with Zoe and I, neither of us had sort of improvised that much before, we definitely enjoyed it but that is a scene where I watch it in the film and watch myself laughing at Adam and not being in character at all.

H: The nude scene, we have to talk about that [cat-calls from the audience]...well you're well used to that by now, you're covered in clothes, what's up with that.
D: Yeah, I know.
H: Doing a naked scene in that, on set, is probably a lot easier than, or a lot less daunting to do, than when you stood completely naked on a live stage in front of an audience.
D:Yeah, I know, it's, all my past nude scenes have been about loss of virginity or sexual failure and horse blinding [laughter], so it was really like a fun light-hearted scene, it was great, and look, [the images of Dan and Zoe reappears on the screen behind him] it's the movie you just watched. So it was genuinely, it was kinda fun. it wasn't too bad actually, you'd be surprised. Canada at that time of year is not great but it was not as bad as you'd think.

H: Oh you're all blue [the screen is blue] you could star in Avatar. Dublin, obviously, you character literally has a very short stay in Dublin but overall you guys got to spend a bit of time here, was that a lot of fun?
D: It was, it's great we kind of, we had been in Toronto for about six weeks and we came back and it was almost a bit weird, we filmed with one crew for the whole film and then for the last week you get a different group of people, they were lovely, it was a really nice kind of sendoff and for me... the crew came to Dublin for one week and I only had like two scenes...it was nice.

H:Good one if you can get it. Your character Wallace is so polite. And so are you. Daniel doesn't know this but I interviewed him years ago, during Harry Potter, but we bashed into each other in the corridor of Claridge's and you were like 'I'm really sorry, I'm really sorry' you were running here, there and everywhere, and you were 'I'm really sorry about that' and you were really polite, a nice guy and politeness is so underrated especially by men...
D: I dunno, I just don't know another way to be. You know [audience member shouts: You're just a really good actor] ,yeah, this is for you guys, I go back after and scream at everyone. Yeah, I dunno, as I said there's nothing to be gained by not being nice to people, everyone generally speaking is just trying to do their job, it always seems a shame when your doing your job and somebody else is just, eh, rude. Any of those, whatever anybody said is true.
H: Well you're not that.
D: yeah exactly. The thing is I know lots of actors, and 90% of us are really nice and normal and it's just the 10% that are mental.

H: Now a lot of people might not know this, but, you know a very famous song, well a little bit of one, i got you to do it on radio earlier and you'll hate me now [laughs]. Daniel learnt all the words to 'Jumbo Breakfast Roll' [a comedy song created by Cripple of Inishmaan co-star Pat Shortt] it was big a few years ago, you were working with Pat Shortt...
D: By the way, Pat didn't ask me to, I just wanted to embarrass him as much as I could, to say you know that Pat has a song that knocked Shakira off the top spot in Ireland. So, yeah, no I can't. No, I can't.
H: You can! Anyone remember the lyrics?
D: I already did some for you, I can't remember any more than that...awww, I'd remember the elements before I'd know that...
H: You could just strip instead?......[laughter]

UPDATED:
H: A more serious question, a lot of people may have seen online in the last few days you did a viral video, a rapid fire question and answer thing with Vogue, yeah..
D: I haven't seen that yet, is it any good?
H: Yeah, very well made. One of the questions you were asked is what you were reading at the moment and you were reading The Aran Island by Synge [famous Irish playwright] , is that because of your involvement with, yeah, the Cripple of Inishmaan?
D: Absolutely, and it was actually because when they asked me the question they said bring a book you're reading at the moment, I wasn't reading anything at the moment but it was the last thing I finished was the Aran Islands by Synge. So I just took that me and it was, you know, it is an amazing book just in terms of learning about those islands and for the character and trying to get some sense of the place and you see certain bits of his plays and ideas that would later be discussed in his plays, in very early raw form, so its liker a great read.

H: Good to hear that. And before we hand it over to members of the audience, I'm sure there's a few dying to ask a question I've got a What If question.
D: Go for it.
H: What if Daniel Radcliffe was not cast as Harry Potter? [collective sharp intake of breath from audience]
D: Great audience! Yeah, i mean i honestly don't know. It's been too pivotal a thing in my life, to imagine what I'd be doing without it. My parents were in the industry, my dad was a literary agent, my mum was a casting director who worked with Peter Slovinsky a lot, so I'd like to think I would have got a job as a runner and work from the other side in the AD department, cause the ad's are people who outside the film industry you don't really know that department exists really, but they are the most important department in film, really. They're the ones that keep the machinery flowing, and they communicate between ever department, I think I would be good at that.
H: I think we rather have him on screen. Especially when he takes his clothes off!
D: I didn't think it would turn out this way.
H: Well we're glad you did anyway, it's a good question to ask.
D: Yes, absolutely.

H: Well we're going to open it up to the audience, now, anybody got a question, stick your hand up, obviously we can't come to all of you, we'll try to get as many as we can...
D: Up there, up there.
H: Someone's very eager, go on, can you wait we've got a microphone somewhere I think. That one person has to run around so please be patient with the poor girl for us. Daniel could strip while we're waiting, couldn't he?
D: Stop pimping me out!
H: Or you could sing...
Me: Sing Company Way!
D: Definitely not! [laughs]
H: [to fan #1]Have you got the microphone?

D: I can hear you sir, Shout.
Fan #1: Can you hear me Daniel?
D: I can.
F#1: My granddaughter, she's 8, we're from County Leitrim, and em, we're big Elvis fans, thanks for bringing Elvis into the movie [Fool's Gold]. We're 7 years married tomorrow..
D: Congratulations!
F#1: She made you a special present.
D: Thank you, thank you.
F#1: A loom band, a special Harry Potter loom band, can I give it to you?
D: Yeah, absolutely, I'll go grab it.
H: That's so sweet. [crowd aww and clap]
H: Now you're all sorry you didn't bring a present for Daniel. Who else has got questions? We'll come to this lady next.

ME: I  also have a present.
H: You also have a present!
Me: Hi Dan, Hiya, the question in on behalf of my boyfriend, who I'm turning into a fanboy as we speak [laughter from audience] and his question is in relating to Tokyo Vice, in like what's the progress on that, when are you going to start filming?
D: Tokyo Vice, for people who don't know, is a project I'm hoping to do at some point, it's about a, an american journalist who wound up being involved in the Japanese Mafia, in a terrifying and kind of fascinating circumstances and I'm hoping that it will happen, it was gonna happen this year and there were financial issues and so it's kind of being worked on at the moment, I've been involved in the scripting, which is awesome, and hopefully it will be happening this year. And I'm learning Japanese for it..
Me: Yeah I heard that, on Inishmaan, good accent by the way, I saw it on the West End. I have a present for you.
D: Oh, Diet Coke.
Me: You drink Diet Coke, right, don't you? Your name is on it aswell.
D: Yeah, I do, I was just in a restaurant, and they didn't have Diet Coke, they had organic stuff [ the rest of Dan's sentence is blocked out by mass laughter from the crowd]
Me: It's not chilled or anything, I brought it from work,so...
D: Thank you. Yeah, so I'm learning Japanese, yeah i'm not very good, but my favourite phrase is 'tokidoki', it means sometimes...
[audio cuts out here so I miss a question from Fan#3 about his favourite genre to do or what he'd like to do again. His answer was dark comedy.]

H: So you were saying about comedy, you did Extras aswell, would you like to do more TV, in comedy maybe?
D:  Oh, yeah, absolutely, I did Young Doctor's Notebook aswell, it was fantastic, I don't think there's going to be a huge amount of time more, but I'd like to.
H: Can we get our next part of that girl's question?

Fan#3: Can I get a selfie?
H: Wow, you really are chancing your arm! Come down here so, so we can have another question. That lady there.

Fan#4: Where you going for a drink tonight?
D: Well that'd be telling.
H: He has to work very hard.....One final question. Gonna randomly point my finger...at that guy there.

Fan#4: If by some way you managed to get a role in Sharknado 3, just wondering if there's any particular thing you'd want your character to do, I heard you were a fan of the series.
D: I am, it's only been kind of discussed jokingly at the moment, but I did come up with an idea, it would be somebody who's interviewing me, and this is really cheesy, and they could be like 'so, would you ever do another franchise', and I would go 'NO! I wouldn't be seen dead in another franchise!' and a shark [laughter] bursts through the window, yeah that would be it. Thank you. That was, I met Tara Reid recently and I got her perfume 'Shark' by Tara. [laughter]

H: Well thank you so much, Daniel, for taking the time to do this Q&A [cat-calls and applause from the audience].
D: Thank you very much indeed!
