Snitchseeker, Magical Menagerie and Mugglenet had been live tweeting throughout my GMT night from the 2012 Acadamy Awards and it is my disappointment to tell you: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 lost out in all 3 categories it was nominated in; Visual Effects, Makeup and Art Direction.
Hugo won on the VFX and Art fronts, while The Iron Lady took Achievement in Make-Up. Gary Oldman and Kenneth Branagh, who were nominated for other categories in other films than Potter, also lost out. Snitchseeker posted some pictures of the two actors at the event, both of which can be seen on our twitpic.
